Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress attended the opening ceremony and announced the beginning of the conference. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, Zhao Long, gave a keynote speech, while provincial leaders Zhang Yan, Wu Xielin, and Wang Jinfu were in attendance.
In his speech, Governor Zhao Long fondly reviewed the important ideas and practices initiated by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his tenure in Fujian, covering various aspects such as green ecology, rich resources, cultural heritage, Fujian tea and cuisine, and transportation facilities. He cordially invited friends from all walks of life to visit Fujian for tourism, sightseeing, and investment opportunities.
The opening ceremony of the conference featured a dazzling cultural and artistic performance themed "Meeting with Fortune". The creative shows included "Fortunate Encounter", "Waves of Gulangyu Island" - a piano and ballet performance, "Half-acre Pond" - a song and recitation, "Birds Return to Their Nests" - Nanyin music, "She Ethnic Wedding" - a dance, "Seven Li and Eight Li Never Leave Fuzhou" - an operatic song, and a fashion show demonstrating Fujian's landscape and water scenery. Through innovative combinations of various cultural and tourism elements, these shows effectively showcased the distinctive features and essence of Fujian's culture and tourism, exemplifying the confluence of ancient and modern, dialogue between the East and the West, integration of humanity and nature, and harmony of scenic beauty and gourmet cuisine. The performance was marked by distinct regional characteristics and novelty, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere, and earning rounds of applause from the audience. This new picture of "poetry and distant places walking together" sings a symphony of "Fujian's mountains and waters shining anew" in the era.
The opening ceremony was livestreamed nationwide, with the attendance of Du Jiang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, officials from the cultural and tourism departments of key source provinces, leaders of prominent domestic cultural and tourism enterprises, officials from the nine cities and one district of Fujian Province, relevant departments directly under the provincial government, state-owned enterprises under provincial jurisdiction, as well as officials from the cultural and tourism departments of the nine cities and one district, national-level comprehensive tourism demonstration zones, and provincial-level ecological tourism demonstration zones in Fujian. Additionally, responsible officials from counties (cities, districts) in Ningde City, key investors, local cultural and tourism enterprises in the province, media guests, and representatives from various sectors of society were also in attendance, totaling 300 people at the opening ceremony.
